Atlanta, Ga.: Helleborus

The helleborus is a very versatile flower, says Todd Hausman, senior floral designer at Peachtree Petals. They grow well in all soil types and bloom for several months. The greenish flowers look nice when arranged with almost any other plants. They also can bloom with a burgundy cast.

Boston, Mass.: Hydrangea

The blue hydrangea conjures images of the New England seascape, says Julie Sullivan of Winston Flowers. Their fluffy, dense nature works well as a centerpiece. If you're dining outside, pair the flowers with a scoop of grass and a white tablecloth for a great look.

Seattle, Wash.: Tulip

Seattle residents love their tulips, according to Michael Elmore, owner of Buckets flower shop. They look especially nice in mass clumps, which, in addition to being attractive and simple, are also less expensive. Orange and green parrot tulips are particularly fun.

Peonies grow very well in the Midwest, and are one of the most popular flowers in the area, says Beth Barnett, owner of Larkspur. They look great either by themselves or with simple fern accents.

Houston, Texas: Gerbera Daisy

Sandy, a designer at Flower Corner, says gerbera daisies are a popular flower for Houstonians. They look nice with almost any other flowers, from roses to lilies. Or skip the other flowers altogether—gerbera daisies do great by themselves in a vase.

San Francisco, Calif.: Dahlia

Popular dahlias look beautiful in gardens thanks to their fluffy nature. When cut and put in vases or bouquets, they look great with other fluffy girly flowers like roses and hydrangeas, according to the team at Mandy Scott Flowers.

The beautiful orchid, popular in Miami, is a classic flower for home décor and looks great almost anywhere. According to Hirni's Wayside Garden Florist, orchids look best alone, without other flowers or shrubs, so their beauty can be fully appreciated.

At Hana & Posy, a popular Philly flower shop, scabiosa is one of the most-loved blooms. Its textured look pairs well with sweet peas. In terms of color, mixing with purples or yellows is always a safe bet.

Portland, Ore.: Zinnia

Zinnies, which are popular in Portland, come in a huge variety of colors. At Broadway Floral, the blooms are most loved in jewel tones or bright colors. Florists at the store pair zinnias based on their colors—so, a red zinnia would look great with red dahlias or red gerberas.
