I have anxiety that can sometimes take over. I have trouble thinking, I need total quiet to get anything done, and it feels impossible to relax.
I started taking vitamin D a few years ago and realized regular exercise helps a lot. A few months ago, I started having heart palpitations. The first time it happened I was sitting in my car after a run. It was a few days before Christmas and I stopped to get gas. I was feeling calm at the time since I’d gotten everything done the evening before, but I was a bit of a stress case until then.
I wondered if it was a delayed reaction to the stress I’d been having as I sat in my car, trying to take some deep breaths to calm my heart. It took a while, but after about 15 minutes I felt normal again. I thought it was strange and went about my day.
It happened a few times after that and I grew a bit more concerned. While I wasn’t having full-blown panic attacks, my heart would race enough to make it hard to fall asleep or get back to sleep when I woke up during the night. The palpitations would always happen when I was feeling calm — never when I was extra anxious or stressed. Of course, those symptoms would make me anxious and I wondered what was going on. Did I have too much caffeine? Sugar? Are my cortisol levels off?
All I knew was that this was a new symptom, and while it wasn’t crippling and it didn’t interfere with my life, it was concerning. Then I talked to a friend of mine who said she started having the same symptoms while going through perimenopause (exactly where I am in life) and tried CBD capsules.
“I take two in the morning and two at night, and I can’t believe the difference,” she told me.
I asked her to send me the link right away, and I couldn’t order them fast enough. The brand is called Prima, and while I’d never heard of it before, my friend told me she’d tried other products in the past that didn’t do a thing.
I took the nighttime capsules the night I got them in the mail, and I was lulled into the most delicious sleep ever. I had lovely dreams and woke up to realize I’d slept through the night for the first time in a long while.
The daytime capsules were just as soothing. They've taken the edge off of my anxiety, and my heart palpitations haven’t come back since I started using them. I do still get anxious — because that’s life — but these CBD capsules have really taken the edge off and have made it so my anxiety and stress feel more under control.
In fact, I don’t think I’ve felt this balanced since I was in elementary school. I’m sure better sleep is helping me during the day, and I’m sleeping better because I’m not having such strong side effects from daily stress. For once, it's a good cycle to be in.
I had no idea taking four capsules twice a day could help me so much. I’ve had zero side effects, and I’m going to make this a lifelong habit. It turns out sometimes it does pay to try new things.
