Step 1
Clean daily with dishwashing liquid. Pour out the water in the humidifier's reservoir, which stores the water and can grow mold if left uncleaned. Wash the reservoir with warm water and dishwashing liquid to kill germs.
Step 2
Rinse out the reservoir with warm running water while avoiding getting the motor wet. If the motor is exposed to moisture it can render the machine useless, or dangerous to use as the risk of electric shock is high.
Step 3
Clean weekly with a vinegar solution. Pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the reservoir and fill it up with water. Turn on the humidifier, and run it for 30 minutes to sanitize the device. Rinse well, again taking care not to get the motor wet.
Step 4
Run for three minutes with fresh water after cleaning with vinegar; dump out any remaining water before filling with clean distilled water to run the humidifier.
