Vinegar
Vinegar is a solution of mainly acetic acid that has been diluted with distilled water. It can kill most forms of bacteria and mold because of its acidity, which also allows it to cut grease effectively. Mix 1/2 cup vinegar with 1 gallon of water for an effective window cleaner.
Baking Soda
Baking soda has deodorizing properties due to its high alkalinity. Because baking soda is a powder and because it is abrasive, it can be used to scrub surfaces when made into a paste with water. Baking soda is also effective at cutting grease. For a good all-purpose cleaner, mix 1/2 cup baking soda with 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 gallon of water.
Borax
Borax is a mixture of different minerals: boron and sodium mixed with water and oxygen. Borax can also kill mold and bacteria, is a good scouring aid and is even an effective laundry aid. In fact, you'll often find it in your grocery store's laundry aisle.
Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is an acid that cuts grease, has antibacterial properties and leaves a fresh scent. Lemon juice is also a natural bleach, and, when combined with sunlight, it can be used to remove stains from items like plastic food containers.
