It’s the start of something new for Vanessa Hudgens and husband Cole Tucker: The High School Musical alum and MLB player are now parents. They were spotted leaving a Santa Monica hospital on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, which happened to be Cole’s 28th birthday.
The new parents have yet to publicly comment on the birth so much remains unknown. The public is still in the dark about the baby’s exact birth date and sex. Fans will just have to be patient.
While Vanessa has not yet opened up about the birth, she did take the time to post on Instagram about her husband’s birthday. She shared a carousel of photos for the big day. “Happy birthday to my slice of heaven @cotuck you make the world a brighter place just by being you ♥️ ,” she captioned the cute pics.
Before Cole, Vanessa was in a nine-year relationship with actor Austin Butler. The couple broke up in 2020. She tried her luck with dating apps, but that was not successful. She first met Cole on a Zoom meditation during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Vanessa made the first move. She slid into Cole’s DMs on Instagram. “I mean, I’m such a go-getter,” she recalled on The Drew Barrymore Show. “If I want something or someone, I just go after ’em. I fully just slid into his DMs and was like, ‘Hey, it was nice to meet you.’ So I think there’s no shame in making the first move.” It paid off. On Valentine’s Day 2021 the couple made things Instagram official.
Around the same time two years later, the couple announced their engagement. They were married on December 2, 2023, in Tulum, Mexico, and exchanged personalized vows. Vanessa looked stunning in a silk Vera Wang dress and accessorized with a veil, which featured her new last name and wedding date.
Vanessa and Cole went public with the good news they were expecting in a big way. When Vanessa co-hosted the 2024 Oscar preshow for ABC, she showed off her growing baby bump and confirmed the good news. She glowed in a black custom Vera Wang Haute dress on the red carpet. She changed into a sheet black gown by Alberta Ferretti for the after-party. Even before this child was born, they were a star.
