Tyler Perry Had a Full Gospel Choir Flown in by Private Jet for Lilibet’s Christening

It sounds like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry knew what they were doing when they picked Tyler Perry to be Lilibet's godfather! Not only did he attend her christening (like any good godparent would), but he also flew in a full gospel choir for the occasion via private jet. Whoa!

Lilibet was christened earlier this month

Though her parents have yet to share any photos or details of the christening themselves, we do know a bit about what the celebration entailed — and the fact that none of the royal family attended, despite the fact that they were all invited.

"I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor," Meghan and Harry's spokesperson said in a statement.

Tyler Perry, who has been instrumental in helping Meghan and Harry get settled into their new lives in California, was named as her godfather, and he made sure he did his part to make her christening a day that no one would forget … and it sounds like truly no expense was spared.

He flew in a 10-piece gospel choir

One detail of the christening that some people may have overlooked was originally reported by People. According to the magazine, Tyler flew in a gospel choir that performed "Oh Happy Day" and "This Little Light" as a nod to Meghan and Harry's wedding.

That must have been so special!

The christening could be a sign that Meghan and Harry want to keep those royal ties alive

As Express reported, royal expert Russell Myers said on the "Pod Save the Queen" podcast that he believes getting Lili christened could mean that Harry and Meghan want their children to be thought of as royal.

"Of course, the one thing I do think is it means Harry and Megan are going to come to the Coronation and I do think they'll bring the family because they will want to celebrate that unity with the royal family," he said.

In any event, it sounds like Harry and Meghan pulled off quite an event

And even without any members of Harry's family in attendance, it seems like locally, they've managed to create quite a support system.

Here's hoping there's still some sort of path forward for him and his father and brother to put their differences behind them, especially if Harry does want his children to experience the royal side of their lives and lineage.
