Earlier this month, former football player Tom Brady was the subject of a roast on Netflix. For those who are unfamiliar with the roast, one person is subject to a bunch of jokes about their life, but they are in attendance for the whole thing. Brady took the jokes made about him in stride, but he's now sharing that his kids weren't too keen about some of the things that were said.

"I liked when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way they affected my kids," Tom explained this week during an appearance on the Pivot Podcast. "It’s the hardest part about… like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize, ‘I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.’"
Tom shares two kids with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, son Benjamin and daughter Vivian. He also shares son Jack with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
He said that participating in the roast was "a good lesson" for him as a parent. "I’m going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it. At the same time, I’m happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun," he explained.
Reports have claimed that Gisele Bündchen was "deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family" during the roast. A source told People that Gisele's "priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted."
Gisele was also allegedly "upset and hurt" about jokes made about her current relationship with Joaquim Valente.
Comedian Nikki Glaser, who participated in the roast, said that Tom's kids were one of the few off-limits topics.
"We all collectively just decided not to involve his kids too much in anything, because they didn't ask for that," she said on The Howard Stern Show. "So any kind of reference to anything with that, we left off the table… We all agreed, let’s not throw the kids under the bus."
Nikki did make a joke about Tom's breakup with Bridget Moynahan, saying, "It’s hard to walk away from something that isn’t your pregnant girlfriend."
