Nearly two months after his sudden death, a celebration of life was held for Stephen 'tWitch' Boss on Saturday. According to reports, the service was an emotional one as friends and family — including a who's who of Hollywood — honored the memory of the former Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ and dancer.
Stephen's nearest and dearest gathered to celebrate him
The DJ's family, including wife Allison Holker Boss and their children — 14-year-old Weslie, 6-year old Maddox, and 3-year-old Zaia — welcomed mourners during the service in Los Angeles. According to People, it was an emotional gathering, with plenty of people sharing their love for and memories of Stephen.
Several celebrities spoke to the crowd gathered
Stephen's former boss and coworker Ellen DeGeneres spoke, as did comedians Loni Love and Wayne Brady. It sounds like it was a full house, with People reporting that the entire cast and crew from Ellen's show were there, as well as Derek Hough, Wade Robson, AJ McLean, Robin Antin, and many more celebrity friends.
The man who officiated Stephen and Allison's wedding was also there
Jeff Thacker, who presided over the couple's 2013 nuptials, introduced a video tribute alongside actress Debbie Allen. In addition, country artist Mickey Guyton and "Honey, I'm Good" singer Andy Grammer performed in honor of Stephen.
Allison and her oldest daughter also spoke
We absolutely cannot imagine the pain the family is going through right now, but both Allison and Weslie pushed through to each deliver a personal tribute to Stephen. "He was the light," Allison told mourners. "He chose love, grace, and kindness. And he deserves to be celebrated."
The family shared bracelets from the organization they started to honor Stephen's legacy
Allison and her children created the Move With Kindness Foundation, which aims to uplift "individuals facing adversity by serving as a source of support and inspiration," according to display cards at the service.
We can't even begin to imagine the hole that Stephen's death has left in the Boss family's world, but it seems like they're determined to use his memory to help others. We love that!
