Seth Rogen Gives Brutally Honest Explanation for Why He & His Wife Chose Not to Have Kids

When it comes to deciding against having children, Seth Rogen has zero regrets. During a candid new interview, the 40-year-old comedian opened up about the carefully thought-out choice that he wife Lauren Miller made to forgo having a family. It seems they like their carefree lifestyle too much to ever add kids to the mix.

Seth said staying kid-free has helped him "succeed" in his career

He was chatting with Steven Bartlett for an episode of The Diary of a CEO podcast when he confessed how happy he is with his decision not to become a father. He said he's not alone in his feelings, as his wife also agrees that they made the best possible choice for themselves. "Now, more than anything, the conversation is honestly, thank God we don't have children," he revealed.

Not only do they get to do what they want, but they also feel like they're helping the planet

"We get to do whatever we want, we are in the prime of our lives, we are smarter than we've ever been, we understand ourselves more than we ever have, we have the capacity to achieve a level of work and a level of communication and care for one another, and a lifestyle we can live with one another that we've never been able to live before," he explained, before adding that more kids is not what the world needs right now.

He also pointed to how much happier he seems when compared with his friends

It sounds like watching some of his buddies who are also parents has really reinforced Seth's decision not to procreate. "Me and my wife seem to get a lot more active enjoyment out of not having kids than anyone I know seems to get out of having kids," he joked, noting that a lot of his friends do have children.

"Some people want kids," he continued. "Some people don't want kids."

This isn't the first time Seth has celebrated his child-free status

In 2021, he appeared on The Howard Stern Show, where he talked about how children would get in the way of his laid-back lifestyle. "We're f–king psyched all the time," he joked. "We're lying in bed on Saturday mornings smoking weed, like watching movies naked. If we had kids we could not be f–king doing this."

Well, he has a point there!

Seth's lifestyle isn't for everyone

While he and Lauren may be loving life, we know that a lot of people feel just as jazzed and inspired by becoming parents and sharing their lives with their children. But we're glad Lauren and Seth are happy with their choices. It really does sound like they have a blast together and make the most of all of that free time!
