Serena Williams Donated ‘Super Soldier’ Breast Milk to Families in Need

Serena Williams is making sure that babies in need are being taken care of. The tennis superstar and mom of two went on a recent trip to New York City and had extra breast milk that she couldn't use. So instead of throwing it out, she had a brilliant idea: to donate it. She shared her plans on social media, and her followers joked about her milk creating a new generation of tennis superstars.

Serena is making a difference for a lot of families

"On a recent trip to NY, I had leftover breast milk. After going through a screening, I was able to donate it instead of taking the milk home," she captioned the post. "I know so many amazing women that adopt or are unable to make milk. It felt amazing. BTW someone out there is getting some super soldier milk. "

She's "super excited" to make a difference for families

In the video, Serena shows off her impressive breast milk reserve while she talks about how she's "really excited" to be able to donate her breast milk "to people who really need it."

Before she closed the freezer, she revealed that "it’ll be anonymous, but super excited to just help in some way."

Parents in the comments expressed their gratitude

Serena gave birth to her second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August. The comments on her post were full of fellow parents thanking her for her contribution.

"My baby is adopted and ended up having severe dairy allergies, so we relied on donor milk. It was such a gift to us and I’m always so grateful when I think about it!❤️," one parent commented.

"As a NICU mom of twins who needed donor milk while waiting for mine to come in, thank you for donating ❤️," another said.

"This made me teary. My premature twins lived on donated milk for their first month. So grateful for women like you! (and really wish it had been yours!! ) ♥️ , " another mom added.

Many people in the comments quipped about the abilities that babies who received Serena's donated milk might end up getting as a result.
