Make room in the huddle. Patrick and Brittany Mahomes announced Friday they are expecting their third child together.
If you’re counting, that’s three children and three Super Bowl titles for the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. The newest Mahomes will join siblings Sterling Skye, 3, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavone Mahomes III, 18 months, according to People.com.
The family posed for a video and photos to share the happy moment Friday on Instagram.
“Round three, here we come,” the soon-to-be parents posted.
In seven NFL seasons, Mahomes has become one of the sport’s biggest stars. He is one of five quarterbacks in NFL history to win at least three Super Bowl titles and the end doesn’t seem anywhere in sight for the 28-year-old passer, who has led the Chiefs to six straight appearances in the AFC Championship game.
Last season, Mahomes passed for 4,183 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions while leading the Chiefs to a thrilling overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
Throughout the journey to the Super Bowl, Mahomes and the Chiefs were thrust into the celebrity spotlight. Brittany became fast friends with pop superstar Taylor Swift, who boosted NFL ratings throughout the season while dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
As further proof of the Chiefs’ star power, Super Bowl LVIII became the most-watched telecast of all time with 123.4 million viewers.
