Paris Hilton Wore a Disguise to the Hospital & Didn’t Tell Her Family About Son’s Birth

Paris Hilton's baby news didn't just come as a surprise to her fans — it was a shock to everyone in her life. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Paris revealed the extreme lengths she went to in order to keep her son's birth private, including wearing a disguise to the hospital.

In January, Paris announced that she is finally a mom

Sharing a photo of a tiny hand grasping hers, Paris wrote, "You are already loved beyond words."

This is her first child with husband Carter Reum, and though Paris has long talked about her dreams of becoming a mother someday, she never gave any indication that she was expecting until the baby had already arrived.

There was a lot of secrecy around the process

"My entire life has been so public," she said. "I've never had anything for myself. We decided that we wanted to have this whole experience to ourselves."

This meant that she wore a brunette wig and a hoodie to conceal her identity when she went to the hospital as her surrogate was in labor, and even used a different name.

Her family didn't find out until just before the world did

She waited until just before their Instagram announcement went live to tell their immediate families the news, and even then, she said that she waited to make that announcement until she felt like the news was about to get out without her consent anyway.

They also spent the first two days at home alone with their baby, telling the staff who works at their house that it was being painted. Smart!

She says her mom instincts have kicked in

"I want to protect him and to be with him every second," Paris said. "You have this mother instinct that kicks in, which I’ve never had before. I feel so complete now."

It's wild what happens after you become a mom and now, Paris gets to see what that's like for herself.

Since his birth, Paris has continued to keep her son private

We haven't seen photos of him or found out any details about him (including his name), but given Paris' new mama bear vibes, that seems totally intentional — and we'd be surprised if it ever changes.

Good for her for doing what she has to in order to protect her family. That's one lucky baby!
