People Are Praising Ms. Rachel for Wearing a Dress Covered in Messages From Kids Living in Sudan

Every generation has their childhood TV icon who is the epitome of kindness and all things good. Gen Xers and Millennials had Mr. Rogers. And now our kids have Ms. Rachel. The YouTuber, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, has blown up in the last few years thanks to her brand of simple, yet effective teaching tools for toddlers and preschoolers. Her videos help kids to learn their letters and work on their speech, but beyond that, she teaches them the value of empathy for others. Accurso has made waves for highlighting children in countries ravaged by war and poverty. And while some people have nothing nice to say, others have nothing but love for Accurso and her message.

She shared pictures of her dress on Instagram.

“I was so honored to carry the pictures and stories of 11 precious kids from Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo with me to the Children’s Emmys,” she captioned the photo. “Their powerful words were embroidered into my dress and I told everyone about them and how we need to help in every way possible. To the kids – we see you, we care about you, we love you, we stand with you.

And while Ms. Rachel didn’t win, she said it “doesn’t matter at all.”

Ms. Rachel shared some of the kids’ messages in the comments.

Accurso thanked the Sudanese American Physicians Association and The Future of Congo for making the connection.

“One of the precious kids, Muhindo, told me on zoom about how he saw his little brother fall & get killed while they were playing soccer. He was going to be stabbed but his father took the stabbings for him. I believe his father was also killed. He is the sweetest boy. Just 9 years old,” she wrote.

“Sweet, little Iman just wants Sudan to be safe and beautiful. Children are begging us to be safe. I wish we protected all children from violence,” she shared.

People had nothing but love and gratitude to share.

The Sudanese American Physicians Association shared a message of gratitude, writing, “Thank you Ms. Rachel for elevating the voices of children from Sudan & Congo ❤️.”

“Thank you for being you. I turned you on YouTube for my October 2023 baby one day after hearing your name in online spaces and never expected that you would affect me more than my baby. You give me hope and set an example for how to use a platform. The world is better because you are in it,” one mom wrote.

“What you do for children and youth globally is next level. You turn vision into action and adversity into impact. You’re amazing, and I feel beyond lucky to witness it,” another Instagram user praised.

The post made its way across social media.

Users on X also shared the image of Accurso in her dress, and again, people had nothing but good things to say.

“I love how outspoken she is and doesn’t care about backlash,” one person wrote.

“‘Outspoken’ and it’s just her standing up for children’s rights and she still gets dragged and hated for it. We live in a pathetic world. Like all this lady does is care for children, like that’s it but she’s seen as an evil antisemite,” someone replied.

“She’s literally sharing messages of children across the world. The only haters of her literally are all a self report of people who HATE children and don’t care for them. I myself am not even sure I want kids but that doesn’t mean you have to HATE kids….. this hate is ridiculous,” someone added.
