Miranda Kerr Opens Up About What It’s Like Co-Parenting Her Son With Katy Perry

We wish every co-parenting relationship worked as well as Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom's does. In a recent interview, the model opened up about how she handles raising her son Flynn with her ex-husband and his fiancée, Katy Perry. Their go-to parenting motto is one we think all couples should adopt.

The former couple dated for three years before getting engaged. Orlando popped the question to Miranda in 2010 and they were married just one month later. They welcomed their son a short time later in January 2011. Unfortunately, the good times didn't last too long after Flynn's birth, and the two called it quits in 2013.

They had already separated by the time they announced their divorce

When news broke of their split, it was revealed that they had actually already been separated for months. But both Miranda and Orlando realized that an end to their marriage didn't mean an end to their relationship. "When we separated, the most important thing we decided we could do is that when we make a decision, we ask, 'Is this in the best interest of our child?'" she recently told LuisaViaRoma magazine.

Miranda and Orlando have remained friends over the years

Plenty of people struggle to stay cordial (let alone friendly) after their romantic relationship ends, but Miranda says that wasn't a problem for her and Orlando. "We will be family no matter what," she insisted. It probably doesn't hurt that Miranda really likes Orlando's new love.

The model has nothing but good things to say about Katy

"I adore Katy and am grateful Orlando found someone he is happy with," she said. "Now Flynn has four happy parents who get along."

Miranda has since remarried Snap Inc. cofounder and CEO Evan Spiegel. The pair met in 2014 and then tied the knot in 2017. They have since welcomed two sons together, Hart and Myles, making Flynn a big brother three times over. (Orlando and Katy became parents to a daughter, Daisy, in August 2020.)

It's clear these four have Flynn's best interests at heart

We love seeing strong co-parenting relationships. It's so much better for everyone involved. Hopefully Miranda, Katy, Orlando, and Evan can keep up the good work — we're sure everyone breathes a bit easier knowing that Flynn will always come first in their relationships.
