What to Know
It’s hard to say when both the United Kingdom and the United States turned their backs on Meghan Markle. Somewhere between her marriage to Prince Harry and the couple’s decision to step back from their Royal Family duties, however, there was a shift from plenty of people and what they see as disingenuous behavior from the Duchess of Sussex. Because yes, that’s still her title.
The pair still have plenty of fans and supporters, don’t get it twisted. But Meghan especially has people who are always quick to point out any potential flaws, and that’s exactly what they did in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The post shows a video of Harry and Meghan greeting a crowd of people but, according to some, Meghan’s entire demeanor is nothing but fake.

In the video posted on X, Harry speaks to a woman who greets him and Meghan in a crowd of supporters. After Meghan sees Harry speaking to her, she enters the conversation and looks at a framed photo of when Meghan and Harry got engaged. Meghan’s enthusiasm appears to be pretty legit, but according to the post, it’s anything but.
“I wasn’t buying her ooohs and ahhhs for one second!” One user commented on the X post.
Another user observed, “She almost has a fake accent .. she tries so darn hard to copy Catherine. She’s such a fraud.”
Someone else commented that a particular move Meghan does, by placing her hand on her chest or heart in exclamation, is one that Harry has now copied and that he uses himself when interacting with the public. There’s also, apparently, a ‘tell’ for when Meghan is not being as genuine as she seems, at least according to her haters.
“Every time she rubs her nose it’s clear she is faking it,” a user wrote on the X post.
Another person wrote that Meghan seems to try and take the attention away from Harry when they are out in public.
“She barrels in and talks right over him. Every time,” they wrote. “He is a mere accessory.”
Her acting was already an issue for some.

The fact that Meghan was an actress before she married Harry was a big red flag for some. For others, it meant she would be able to slip into her role as a member of the British Royal Family and part of the public eye without an issue. However, since Meghan has experience in acting, those who don’t love her have been quick to point out how she uses those talents to make herself look better, or more sympathetic to those in need, when people are watching.
Then again, there are critics who think Meghan is such a terrible actress that they can see through her actions when she is out in public with Harry.

Someone else posted that, when it comes to Meghan, “Everything is very intentional.”
Meghan gets a lot of the blame for leaving The Firm.
There might still be plenty of people who love Harry and Meghan and support them. However, there might be even more who just can’t stand them the more they see them on social media, in public, or even on Netflix. On a Reddit thread about why people seem to hate Meghan so much, one user suggested that it’s because people blame Meghan for Harry stepping away from his duties as a member of the Royal Family.
They wrote, “Harry left the Royal Family and it’s easier to blame an attractive female for beguiling a man than to hold the man accountable for his choices or to look at the problems that led to the rift.”
