Lauren Bushnell Speaks Out About Her Post-Baby Body After She’s Called ‘Sickly Looking’

New mom Lauren Bushnell doesn't have time for the haters. The Bachelor alum recently shared a series of posts on her Instagram story, describing how she deals with people who criticize her for her weight. We have to admit it, we're here for her direct approach!

The 31-year-old was doing an Instagram Q&A when she shared how comments about her slender postpartum figure have left her feeling. She shared a screenshot of one message she received, accusing her of being "so damn sickly looking."

"I don't wanna bring attention to these kinds of messages, but the reality is I get them. They exist," she said, adding that she doesn't feel like she has to defend herself, while admitting she already struggles with insecurities about her weight.

She went on to describe how she has struggled with her weight in the past

Lauren and her husband, country music star Chris Lane, recently welcomed their first child, son Dutton, together. "No matter what I do, I cannot gain weight," she explained to her followers. "The only time in the last 10 years I've been able to is being pregnant or on oral contraceptives. Otherwise, it's just how my body wants to be."

The reality star said she gets a lot of criticism online

It sounds like this is hardly the first time that Lauren has faced not-so-kind comments from strangers. "I wish I had my pregnancy booty but I don't, and apparently some people on the internet don't like that," her post continued.

"I eat healthy (in fact I usually out eat my husband, but these messages don't wanna hear that haha). I think what makes me most sad is as a new mom I've given my baby everything, including my body, but still get messages criticizing it."

All of the comments about her weight even prompted Lauren to see her doctor

After hearing about how skinny she was from so many people, Lauren decided to check with her doctor and make sure everything was OK. "I'm all for getting bloodwork done [especially] post-baby [because] they drain a ton of nutrients. But reading messages [about] my weight was making me believe there was something wrong with me," she wrote. The good news is that Lauren is fine — "just a little low" on vitamin D.

Lauren ended her posts with a request on behalf of all moms

She wanted to make sure that other new moms don't feel the same way she felt, so she ended her series of posts with a call to action, writing that society shouldn't comment on women's bodies in the postpartum period because there's so much to it and "a tremendous amount of emotion" that comes along with all of it.

She's not wrong. Hopefully her words prompt some people to stop making comments of any kind about women's bodies.
