Britney Spears' sons have been keeping their distance from their mom, but it's not for the reason that The Daily Mail recently reported. The outlet claimed that Kevin is worried Britney is "on meth," complete with quotes … but according to him, he never actually said that. What?

Britney's recent Instagram posts have had a lot of people concerned
In the time since Britney has been freed from the conservatorship that controlled her life for more than a decade, many of her Instagram posts have been rather erratic. The singer is known to dance and go on long rants in her captions that leave people confused.
But The Daily Mail claimed that it might be about more than Britney adjusting to the real world again.
The outlet reported that Kevin believed drugs were at play

The Daily Mail reporter Daphne Barak said that the outlet is working with Britney's parents, her brother, her ex-husband, and her children on a documentary, and this supposedly led Kevin Federline to reveal to the outlet about his darkest concerns for his ex-wife.
"I fear she's on meth – I've been praying someone would make it public and that she wakes up. It's terrifying. She is the mother of my boys," Barak quoted Kevin saying during filming.
The report also claimed that her father is worried she'll have the same fate as Amy Winehouse
Jamie Spears is also on hand for the filming of the documentary, and reportedly told The Daily Mail that he's concerned Britney's following a similar path that the late Amy Winehouse did, saying, "Britney may die like Amy."
Amy died of alcohol poisoning at the age of 27 in 2011.

Now Kevin is refuting these claims

"It saddens our family that Daphne Barak and Erbil Gunasti have decided to fabricate lies and publish the heartache our family has endured, along with the trauma of our minor children in the Daily Mail and The Sun," Kevin wrote on his Instagram Story. "We did allow Daphne & Bill into our home because we trusted them, but that trust was lost and we severed ties back in March for many reasons we choose not to go into here. It is very distressing that she continues to harass our family when we have repeatedly asked her to leave us alone."
"As previously published, our family did speak with Ms. Barak and Mr. Gunasti a few times, and this was done in a respectful way with love and compassion for Britney and the Spears family," he added.
Britney seems to have responded to the story already
On Sunday, she took to Instagram to share a stock image of a little girl being bullied by three boys, along with her thoughts.
"It makes me sad because I tried so hard to make things nice for you and it was never good enough," she wrote. "So you guys go behind my back and talk about me … it breaks my heart and the news is so low … l've always felt like the news bullies me … It's sad because everyone sits back as if that's ok to make up lies to that extent … Why am I told I have to sit back and rise above ???"
Thankfully, we now know that what the story reported was false — at least according to Kevin. Hopefully, that means Britney's not in as much danger as it appears.
