As a new mom, free time is limited — just ask Katy Perry! And when Luke Bryan called her out for having leg hair on American Idol, she was having none of it. Luke, she has a baby at home. Does anyone really expect her to be on top of her beauty routine these days?
It all started in a behind-the-scenes video Katy shared
In a video on her Instagram Story that was filmed from the set of American Idol with her co-star, Luke takes a jab at Katy’s appearance, saying, “I know you’re a mom and everything, but we gotta do something about this leg hair.”
Hear that? That’s the sound of a million moms gasping that he would even dare go there.
Katy had the perfect response ready
“No! I don’t got time! I’d rather cuddle with my daughter!” Katy responded.
And not only did she let her followers catch a closer glimpse of her unshaven leg, but she also added the hashtag “#MomsKnow” to the post. Yep, we definitely do — and we totally understand why she’d rather spend quality time with baby Daisy Dove when she can rather than shaving her legs.
Honestly, Luke should have known better
Though he’s known for a good ribbing — and it’s clear that everyone involved thought the moment was a funny one — we’d have assumed that, as a dad himself, Luke would know a thing or two about the kind of time a mom has in the first year of her child’s life!

This isn't the first time Katy's been open about neglecting her leg hair
While complimenting the performance of American Idol contestant Cassandra Coleman on the show last month, Katy admitted that she hasn’t been too concerned about keeping her legs hair-free.
“As a new mother, I don’t have very much time so I’ve quit shaving my legs. But when you sang, the hair on my legs grew an inch and a half. Full body chills! It was amazing,” she said at the time.
That’s a confession a lot of us can relate to!
Katy's priorities are in exactly the right place
After all, Daisy won’t be little for long — Katy’s gotta soak up this time while she still can! The time for shaving legs will come again … or maybe Katy will keep finding other things she’d rather do.
Either way, Luke better watch his back. We have a feeling Katy’s not messing around!
