When it comes to King Charles III's coronation over the weekend, there's a lot to talk about … and so much of it has to do with Kate Middleton's outfit, right down to the accessories. In fact, the jewelry she wore to the event paid tribute to both Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana in the sweetest way.

The royals' ensembles were filled with tradition and meaning
And for Kate, that meant wearing a stunning Alexander McQueen headpiece and gown, along with a Royal Victorian Order mantle (the cape she wore over her dress).
As we know, Kate has always been very methodical about what she wears, and that didn't change at all on such a big day for her family and UK history.
Kate wore Queen Elizabeth's necklace

You may have noticed that Kate chose to accessorize with the George VI Festoon Necklace, which one belonged to Queen Elizabeth. As Yahoo! reported, the piece, which was commissioned in 1950 as a gift from King George to his daughter, is quite sparkly and features three strands of diamonds.
She also wore earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana

On Kate's ears were the South Sea Pearl Earrings, which feature diamonds and pearls, and were worn often by Princess Diana for formal occasions. Kate has worn them before, too, but has altered them, to her own taste, to be more pear-shaped and less circular.
Kate and Charlotte also had a matching moment

Both royal ladies were wearing coordinating floral headpieces designed by Alexander McQueen and Jess Collett for the occasion, along with similar updos — and they were both wearing white dresses. This is too cute!
This has to be among Charlotte's most stylish moments ever.
