Move over 19 Kids and Counting, now we're at 19 Duggar grandkids and counting. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children have now had 19 kids of their own, and there's even a 20th grandchild on the way. And only a fraction of the Duggar kids have started their own families. These 19 grandkids came from just eight Duggar marriages, many of them now featured on spin-off show Counting On! Just wait until the younger Duggars grow up and get married and start families of their own.
Likely soon adding to the grandkids list will probably be Justin Duggar. He's currently engaged to Claire Spivey and after they get married, perhaps they'll start a family of their own. And if each Duggar continues to have multiple children, Jim Bob and Michelle will become grandparents dozens of times over.
It's hard to keep track of all the little ones that keep coming, so here's the complete (for now) list of all 19 Duggar grandkids.
Mackynzie
2009 marked the birth of the first Duggar grandchild, Josh and Anna Duggar's daughter Mackynzie. As the first, she was given a lot of attention. She even got her own 19 Kids and Counting special episode dedicated to her turning 1 year old. It was called "GrandDuggar First Birthday" and it coincided with the announcement that Josh and Anna were expecting again.
Mackynzie is now 11.
Michael
Next came Josh and Anna's son Michael in 2011, and he also got his own 19 Kids and Counting Episode called "First Grandson." By giving their second child an "M" name, Josh and Anna established their own moniker pattern. Michelle and Jim Bob did all "J" names, and Josh and Anna have all "M" names for their six kids. Michael is 9 now and was named after Jim Bob's uncle, as well as Anna's dad.
Marcus
Marcus arrived two years later, in 2013, bringing the Duggar grandkid total up to three — all from Josh and Anna's family. But Josh's siblings soon began getting married and having kids of their own to round out the extensive grandchildren list. Marcus is 7 now, and Anna wrote on Instagram that he's a great animal lover. "A boy’s best friend is his frog," he recently said.
Israel
2015 marked the first Duggar grandkid not from Josh and Anna's family. That's the year Jill and her husband Derick Dillard welcomed their son Israel, who is now 5. "He's just a handsome little fella," Jill said of her first child after his birth. Her pregnancy journey was documented in the 2015 episode "Jill's Special Delivery."
Meredith
Josh and Anna also had a child in 2015, their daughter Meredith. The now 5-year-old is a lot like her older brother Marcus, and she enjoys playing with cute animals like her cousin's kitten (pictured here). She's the second oldest of Josh and Anna's three daughters and seems to be thriving as a middle child, based on Anna's Instagram snaps.
Spurgeon
2015 also marked the first time Jessa and Ben Seewald had a child — their son Spurgeon. ABC News reported that he's named after the 1800s preacher Charles Spurgeon. "He had a big impact on our lives," Ben said at the time. "His writings and his sermons and books are still around today. They just continued to impact many, many people."
Spurgeon Seewald is now 5.
Henry
A couple of years passed before another Duggar grandkid was born. Then in 2017, Jessa and Ben welcomed their son Henry. Ben said that they named him Henry because "we just thought it was cute, but also there was another great man of God named Matthew Henry … he wrote a lot of great commentaries." Henry is 3 years old now.
Samuel
Samuel is Jill and Derick's youngest child, born in 2017. Perhaps they'll eventually have more kids, but for now they're fine with their two sons. Jill even recently revealed that she uses birth control to ensure that there are no surprise kids on the way. "Children are a blessing, but that doesn't mean that at all costs you should have as many kids as possible," she said.
Samuel is 3 now.
Mason
After Josh's various scandals came to light, the couple took a couple of years off from having kids. "For nearly the last two years, we have quietly worked to save our marriage, focus on our children, and rebuild our lives as a family," they wrote on their website. Then they expanded their family again in 2017 with their son Mason. He's now 3 and the couple's youngest boy.
Gideon
New parent alert! 2018 marked the first birth for Joy-Anna and her husband Austin Forsyth. They welcomed their son Gideon in February of that year. He was apparently the "biggest" Duggar grandkid up to that point, weighing 10 pounds. Joy-Anna really went through it for her first labor. Gideon is now 2.
Garrett
Joe and Kendra's first child was also born in 2018 — their son Garrett. Kendra was pregnant for the first time at the same time as her own mom — who was also expecting a 2018 baby. That's a pretty special thing for a mother and daughter to get to share, and at least she wasn't alone in experiencing pregnancy!
Garrett turned 2 in summer 2020.
Felicity
After marrying Jeremy Vuolo in 2016, Jinger welcomed the couple's first child in the summer of 2018. Their daughter Felicity is now 2, and she's so cute. After her birth, Jeremy gushed to People magazine: "God is so kind. Both mom and baby are healthy, doing great, and resting well. We are very thankful for her safe arrival and look forward to life as parents!"
Ivy
Jessa and Ben's youngest child was born in May 2019. They named her Ivy Jane Seewald. They simply liked how the name sounded, and Ben revealed that the Jane part came from Lady Jane Grey, the queen of England in 1553. "She's a very inspirational character to us," he said of baby Ivy Jane's name inspiration.
Addison
In November 2019, Joe and Kendra welcomed a second child. Their daughter Addison is 1 year old now. Her name meaning has religious ties, as many of the Duggar grandkid monikers do. According to the couple, Addison means "in God's image" and her middle name Renee means "born again." What a cutie.
Bella
Josiah Duggar married Lauren Swanson in 2018, but it wasn't until November 2019 that they had their first child. Prior to Lauren giving birth to baby Bella Milagro, they'd had a miscarriage. But that just makes Bella their special rainbow baby. Her middle name even means "miracle" in Spanish.
Maryella
November 2019 also marked the birth of Josh and Anna's youngest child, their daughter Maryella Hope. She came a day before Thanksgiving, serving as an excellent reason for the Duggar family to be thankful. At the time of her birth, Maryella became Jim Bob and Michelle's 16th grandchild.
Grace
A new set of Duggar parents joined the fold in 2020. John David and Abbie started the year off on a high note when Abbie gave birth to baby Grace in January. She didn't have the easiest pregnancy, since she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum — the same extreme morning sickness that Kate Middleton gets. But it was all worth it in the end.
Evelyn
Joy and Austin welcomed a rainbow baby in August 2020. After Gideon but before her daughter Evelyn, Joy had a stillbirth. It's always such a tragic thing to lose a child, and Joy made sure to grieve that loss while also planning for the future. Now she's mom to two beautiful children who will hopefully share the same tight bond she shares with her own siblings.
Evangeline
In December 2020, Jinger gave birth to her second child — a girl named Evangeline. She's now the 19th Duggar grandchild, which is a pretty big deal. TLC should reboot the 19 Kids and Counting series as 19 Grandkids and Counting. And it really is "and counting" because there's another little one on the way for this big fam…
Joe and Kendra are expecting again
Jim Bob and Michelle's 20th grandchild is due in 2021. Joe and Kendra are currently expecting their third child in February. They've joked that it will be a "tie-breaker" baby, because they already have one girl and one boy. But the girls side is about to get a huge advantage, as they recently did a gender reveal and learned they're having a daughter.
