This year feels like both the longest and the shortest all at once. It probably feels even weirder for Jenna Dewan, who gave bith to her son Callum with fiancé, Steve Kazee, right at the beginning of quarantine. She's spent her son's whole existence at home, but that has resulted in her sharing a lot of her mommy-son bonding moments to keep all her followers' spirits high.
Most of the photos and videos she's shared have been happy ones — moments where Callum is smiling or laughing. The kinds of pictures that could cheer anyone up. But she's also gotten real about motherhood a couple of times, talking about her breastfeeding journey or how staying at home has led to days of sweatpants and losing track of time. We so feel that, girl.
Jenna very rarely shares pictures of her older daughter — 7-year-old Everly from Jenna's marriage to Channing Tatum, so it's kind of fun to see pics of Callum all the time. As he gets older, Jenna might adopt the infrequent posting routine she's had with Evie, so we should enjoy the sweet mother and son moments while we can.
Baby's First Photo
Jenna announced Callum's birth to the world a few days after he was born. "And just like that, our hearts exploded into all of eternity and beyond … Welcome to the world you little angel!" she wrote on Instagram. She also shared his full name: Callum Michael Rebel Kazee. So cute.
Morning cuddles
"I'll never stop loving these morning cuddles," the mom of two wrote on her Instagram story alongside this sweet photo of Callum napping on her chest. There's something about a sleeping baby that is just so precious, and Jenna is making sure to soak up every cuddly moment with her newborn.
Dancing around
Most of us parents are now very familiar with the Trolls World Tour movie, and Jenna is one of them. She put the film on for her kids in April and then danced around the room with baby Callum to the upbeat soundtrack. These are the kinds of memories moms want to last forever, especially Jenna for whom dancing is her career.
Mom life
This photo just screams "mom of a newborn." Jenna has a sleeping baby in her arms, a burp cloth on her shoulder, and a forgotten vacuum in the middle of the floor. "What day is it…?" she captioned the pic. We feel this one so hard. She also had Callum right as quarantine started, which just threw extra uncertainty into her routine.
Holiday fun
One of the most fun parts of having a newborn baby is dressing them up for all the holidays. St. Patrick's Day fell just weeks after Callum was born, and Jenna was super prepared with this cute shamrock onesie. She then upped the ante with a St. Patrick's Day Instagram filter for this sweet selfie.
Lion King-ing
It's always so tempting to pull a Rafiki from The Lion King and hoist a newborn above our heads like Simba in the movie. Jenna couldn't resist either. In this photo, she was celebrating getting out of sweatpants and into a dress for the first time in a while during this strange year of staying home.
Those little baby feet
Us moms are so strong, because our babies will do things like literally kick them in the chest, and a mom will just take a photo and call it a cute moment. That's what's happening here in this funny picture. But the fact that babies have such cute little feet helps somewhat with the kicking. Somewhat.
Taking a stroll
Being a mom in 2020 has been a struggle, especially for moms of newborns. It can be really isolating. But Jenna has always made the best of it, cherishing all this alone time with her kids. On this occasion, she took a stroll with baby Callum on a sunny summer day. We love her leopard-print baby carrier, by the way.
Feeding time
We always love to see celebrity breastfeeding representation. In her photo caption, Jenna admitted that her breastfeeding journey was far from easy. "From latching issues, to my son loving one side vs. another, making more milk, when to pump…" she said. Moms sharing these kind of struggles makes us all feel less alone.
Playing in the pool
In September, Jenna shared this cute photo of Callum in the pool. He looks beyond happy to be experiencing this new water sensation, and his little sun hat is so precious. The actress and dancer wrote in her caption that she was holding onto these kinds of moemnts to get through this tough time.
All smiles
This is one of those pure joy moments that keeps every mom going through the struggles of parenting. Callum's smile is infectious. He's such a happy baby in this moment. If only they were always this way! Jenna captioned the picture, "Focus on the love," which is a great mantra for these uncertain times.
Sunny days
We wish we could jump into this photo, it looks so serene. Snapped shortly after Callum's birth, it features Jenna lounging in the yard, enjoying the sunshine with her adorable, sleepy baby. Also, can we all give a big shout-out to Callum's sloth pajamas? It doesn't get much cuter than that, does it?
Sweet selfie
OK, so it doesn't seem like Callum has quite grasped the concept of a selfie yet, since he's staring away from the camera. But this is still such a sweet picture of a mother and her son. Jenna wrote a short poem about it in her caption, "Be kind, be thoughtful, be genuine, but most of all, be thankful." Well said.
Giggles galore
"I feel like we could all use some of this today," Jenna wrote about this funny video. It features Callum cracking up thanks to some of his sister Evie's antics. "Not pictured- Evie putting on a show dancing and being her hilarious amazing self in front of him," the mom of two said.
Baby laughs make everything better.
Can't get over the cuddles
"Another day, another cuddle," Jenna captioned this Instagram Story. Moms really never tire of these relaxing, peaceful moments. So much of raising a newborn is chaotic, that when things slow down like this, we just want to live in that moment forever. Now Jenna has the lasting memory via this picture.
