Hilary Duff's oldest son, Luca, has pretty impressive tastes for a 10-year-old! According to a new interview with the How I Met Your Father star, Hilary serves caviar when Luca has friends over — apparently, it's one of their favorite snacks. Who knew?!
Hilary admits that her kids are "picky"
Hilary has three kids — Luca, 10, with ex Mike Comrie, along with daughters Banks and Mae with husband Matthew Koma.
While talking to Yahoo! Life, Hilary admitted that "some days are tougher than others" when it comes to cooking for her children, because each likes different things.
Luca wants the good stuff
Despite that "picky" label — and the fact that most kids his age would definitely turn their noses up at something like this — Luca is surprisingly a big fan of caviar.
"Luca will live for caviar — if we're having friends over, I'll put potato chips out and some caviar and he's so excited," she said.

Her kids all love salty foods
"They love salty things," she said. "But then the second I try to put a little lemon zest or something, they're like, 'That was different.' Once, we were growing bok choy and Luca was like eating it raw out of the garden, but then once I cooked it, it was a hard no for him."
Usually, she sticks to foods like chicken wings, roasted veggies, and pasta.
She also checks her kids' lunchboxes to see what they ate
This is something that a lot of parents do … and some days, the results are more surprising than others.
"What was a hit? What worked? What didn't?" she said. "You want their approval on stuff and it's so insane."
Cooking for kids isn't easy
And sometimes, on the days when the only thing they will eat is pizza, we have to go back to the saying that got us through their infancy: "Fed is best."
It sounds like Hilary's doing a great job, especially if her kiddo is willing to try something like caviar. We're impressed!
