Bringing a baby or small child to a concert is a controversial conversation to have. So many people have incredibly strong opinions about whether it's appropriate to bring small children into such spaces. Some believe that concerts are inherently adult spaces where children shouldn't be allowed, and others expressed concern that there's a good chance they may be hurt. So it's no surprise that after a picture of a baby lying on the floor at Taylor Swift's recent Paris concerts was shared, it went viral due to people's concern over safety.

The post was originally shared by X user @jacnights13, but they have since deleted their original post. Other people have shared pictures that show a baby lying on the floor in the pit area of La Défense Arena. In both pictures, the baby is lying on a fluffy purple jacket, fully asleep and wearing noise-cancelling headphones. There's an adult right next to them, but no one knows if that's the baby's parent.
"Not to be one of those people but I would genuinely call security if I saw a baby in the pit because it is NOT safe there," the original tweet read.
Naturally, people were incredibly concerned for the baby's well-being given how many thousands of people were in the venue for the show.
"As a mom of a baby that’s about this size, i couldn’t imagine being [sic] them into a concert at all. i understand sitters are hard to find, so if you really needed to bring them, you shouldn’t be in the pit. you should have a carrier for them, and the baby needs ear protection," they wrote.
"This is so irresponsible and dangerous that I don’t even find it in me to make a joke about this I hope this baby was not harmed during the show and that someone reported the parent(s)," someone else tweeted.
"This is such bad parenting actually the floor for one is very dangerous and overwhelming plus gross and who knows what's on the floor and being spread around from people," another person wrote.
Someone related to the parents chimed in, offering a little context. "This is my cousin's baby. Yes, he is fine. Yes, he had his own ticket. No, they aren't usually this lacking in parenting judgment. Bad moment. Chill out, concerned Floor Baby fans," the person tweeted.
After the pictures went viral, La Défense Arena spoke up. A spokesperson for the venue told Page Six that their "general terms and conditions of sale stipulate that all minors (without any age limit) holding a ticket for a concert at Paris La Défense arena must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 18 children remain under their legal guardian's responsibility, it’s venue policy. For spectators with a young child on the floor, an alternative seating arrangement has been proposed but refused by ticket holders."
While they had a list of rules about bag regulations and prohibited items, there were no rules about babies or children on the floor during the show. Their website does state the venue "doesn’t recommend bringing children under the age of 4, even if accompanied, particularly due to the high volume."
