Eva Mendes may keep her daughters out of the spotlight, but that doesn't mean they don't influence her work. The actress and mom of two recently designed a ring in collaboration with Cast, a San Francisco based jewelry company, and the ring has several sentimental nods to Mendes' family.

The Havana ring designed by Mendes is a play on the brand's Flip Ring. It is made of multiple gemstones including chrysoprase, emerald pavé, and white agate, as well as diamond accents set in 18-karat reclaimed gold. It retails for $9,750, and there is a smaller ring set in sterling silver that costs $2,200.
Both rings use emeralds, which has a lot of significance for Mendes especially. Earlier this month, she teased the collab on Instagram, explaining that her "love for emeralds runs deep — it’s literally my daughter’s name in Spanish." Her oldest daughter with partner Ryan Gosling is named Esmeralda.
The ring's name, Havana, is also a reference to a place that has a deep sentimentality for Mendes.
"I’ve named it the Havana after Havana, Cuba because that’s where my family is from. Jewelry needs to feel emotional to me or else I don’t wear it well," she explained in a post announcing the ring's launch.
"The chance to play and pick my favorite combination of colors for the amazing Flip Ring was a delight and to be able to partner to support The Art for Elysium, an organization I’ve supported over the years, was the icing on the cake," Mendes wrote in a press release shared by People. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the organization, according to Mendes' social media.
