Eva Amurri Urges the Haters to Unfollow Her After Showing Her Son Playing With Makeup

A playful moment has generated some huge backlash for Eva Amurri. The 37-year-old actress and blogger posted a sweet and innocent video on Instagram of her son playing with makeup, and it garnered quite a heated response from fans. Eva was forced to speak out about the hate she received, advising those who have a problem with it to unfollow her ASAP.

She posted the adorable video on Monday

In a since-expired story captured by People, Eva shared a lighthearted moment between herself and her 2-year-old son Mateo, in which the little boy busied himself in front of a cosmetic mirror.

Mateo, whom Eva shares with ex-husband Kyle Martino, experimented with everything from highlighter to using a beauty blender (we're not going to lie, he's more advanced than we are with his makeup skills) before applying some lipstick.

Mateo has some deft hand-eye coordination

Eva gushed over her little one in the caption for the first of multiple clips from their Monday playtime. "Some early morning makeup application," she wrote.

In another clip, she noted how skilled Mateo has gotten at applying a tricky beauty staple: "He's actually so good at putting lipstick on."

Not everyone was a fan of Mateo's beauty tutorial, however

Apparently, the mom of three caught a lot of heat for letting her son play with makeup, because she posted a follow-up video addressing the situation. "Before I get started with my work day, this is your PSA to remind you that if my son's putting makeup on makes you upset or uncomfortable, I'm probably not the best follow for you," she said.

Eva has no time for criticism

She declared that life is simply "too short not to live your happiness" — and honestly, we have to agree. "Let's all take a cue from our children, who embrace their interests fully, without shame," she concluded the short clip.

Eva is the daughter of actress and activist Susan Sarandon, so we're not surprised to see her speaking out like this.

Mateo is clearly well loved and cared for

Eva — who recently became engaged to her chef boyfriend, Ian Hock — obviously cares a lot for her kids and won't let anyone try to rain on their parade, especially if that parade involves giving a toddler some makeup to pass the time on a busy Monday morning.

Keep on standing up for your kids, Eva. We love to see it!
