Baby Spice is all grown-up. In a new interview, Emma Bunton of the iconic Spice Girls group opened up about what it's like being a busy mother of two children. And it sounds like she gets a little help from her former bandmates, who still keep in touch after all these years.
Emma is like most of us when it comes to her kids
The 47-year-old Brit said that her children are "absolutely" her world in a new interview with Today. "Everything changed in my life as soon as I had children," she gushed.
Fortunately, Emma had a great role model to rely on when she became a mother herself. "I'm very, very close to my own mother, and she has been a huge influence for me," she continued. "And actually, my children have taught me so much."
Her two boys are teens now
Emma has had lots of time to perfect her mom mojo since her kids are older now — Beau is 15 and Tate is 11. But that doesn't mean everything is always easy for the singer, and that's led her to prioritize family time.
"Things are moving so fast with social media and in the world, but the one thing in our home is, we try to stick to those dinner times and we talk so much," she explained.
This may be why her boys are so good at communicating
"Luckily, both of (my children) are very open with me," Emma added. "People have said to me, 'It might change,' but at the moment I'm happy about that. They feel very confident to talk to me."
Emma shares her sons with husband Jade Jones, whom she married in 2021.
If she ever needs mom advice, she can turn to her Spice Girls WhatsApp chat.
Yep, the group has a dedicated chat. So when the going gets tough, Emma knows she can always turn to her "sisters" in music for some guidance, since the Spice Girls have a whopping 12 children between them.
"We absolutely do have a WhatsApp [chain] to talk about work and the kids," Emma said of pals Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, and Victoria Beckham.
We bet the ladies have a lot of wisdom to share
It's good that Emma has such a great support system, but it doesn't sound like she really needs it. Based on the success of her 2021 advice book, Mama You Got This: A Little Helping Hand for New Parents, we think Emma has this whole motherhood thing down pat.
