Hollywood A-listers Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock weren't strangers when they showed up to their first day of work on the set of the film The Lost City. According to Sandra, the pair's relationship goes all the way back to a preschool playground power struggle between their daughters. Apparently, things got bad enough that the principal called!
Sandra explained how she and Channing ended up having to sit down together with their daughters
During an interview with The New York Times, Sandra recalled the first time she laid eyes on Channing — and it doesn't sound like it was the "meet cute" most women dream of. "We met through drama in the principal's office at preschool," she explained, in reference to her daughter, Laila, and Channing's daughter, Everly.
The girls were evidently locked in a bit of a power struggle
Laila and Everly were caught in a showdown, according to Sandra, and both she and Channing went into their meeting with the principal hoping that their own daughter wasn't the instigator. "We were called in together because Everly and Laila were trying to alpha the other one out, and we prayed it was the other's child that caused the damage," she recalled in a totally relatable parenting moment.
It sounds like it's all water under the bridge now

The 57-year-old didn't out which girl was behind the drama (and let's face it — at that age, they may not have even been trying to cause trouble in the first place). But she did say that things have drastically improved between the two girls since their preschool days.
Sandra and Channing spent a lot of quality time together on the set of their new movie
The two stars filmed The Lost City in the Dominican Republic during the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns, so for a while, the two girls (Laila is now 10 and Everly is 8) were all each other had.
"That's the reason we did this film, so they could have one long, COVID-safe playdate," Sandra explained. "We even brought motorbikes down there. All we cared about is that Everly and Laila were just having the time of their lives."
If nothing else, the girls will have a hilarious story to tell when they're older
We're sure both Channing and Sandra were mortified when the spat between their daughters first happened at school, but it sounds like they can laugh about it now. Considering Everly and Laila have mended fences and seem to be pretty close now, we're willing to bet that they'll also find the story of how they first met pretty funny someday.
