As parents, we all know that it's important for our children to learn the value of money. Most of us want our kids to know how to save for something they really want and how to tell if something is worth spending their money on, so we might set them up with a small allowance or let them earn money from doing extra chores. It can be kind of a special moment when a kid marches to the Target checkout counter with a Lego set that they are going to buy with their very own money.
While our kids may be learning about money with $5- or $10-a-week allowances, the kids of some of the wealthiest celebrities are learning about money on a whole different level. Sure, it can be hard to really tell how the money situation works for celebrity kids (rumors abound about which kids have their own credit cards or might also be getting a cut from their family's reality TV shows, for example), but it isn't hard to see that when Blue Ivy Carter shows up for an art auction and bids tens of thousands of dollars, she's operating in a financial universe most kids can only imagine.

EJ Johnson
EJ Johnson is the ultra-fabulous child of NBA legend Magic Johnson who has been majorly into fashion for years. EJ is known for having an amazing purse collection, including an Hermès Birkin bag worth more than $100,000. EJ's been collecting purses since they were a teenager and has likely spent hundreds of thousands of dollars building that collection.
North West
In December 2021, North West got in a little trouble with her mom, Kim Kardashian, for filming a live stream on TikTok without getting permission first (Kim and North share a TikTok account). That little look behind the scenes revealed that North has been spending her pretty substantial allowance on some very fancy purses. Her collection — which no doubt also includes plenty of fancy gifts from her family — contains multiple Judith Leiber bags that cost more than $5,000 each!
Blue Ivy Carter
Spoiler alert: We're going to see Blue Ivy Carter (the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z) more than once on this list. That's largely because she loves to bid the big bucks at auctions. It all started in 2018 when, at the age of only 6, she bid $10,000 to win an art piece made out of deconstructed law and medical textbooks at the Wearable Art Auction in Los Angeles. The auction was a fundraiser for W.A.C.O. (Where Art Can Occur) Theater Center, so at least the money went to a good cause.
Suri Cruise
There is an ongoing rumor that Suri Cruise has had her own credit card since she was a mere 4 years old. One source says that she was spotted using it to take her parents (back when Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were still together) to dinner and even leaving a 400% tip on the meal!
Kylie Jenner
Though she's all grown up now (and a mom of two at only 25 years old), Kylie Jenner was a celebrity kid before she was famous in her own right. She joins our list for making at least one major extravagant purchase before she was even old enough to vote. She bought her first house at the age of 17, dropping a cool $2.7 million for it in 2015.
Kendall Jenner
Kylie wasn't the only one of Kris Jenner's kids to fly the coop early. Kendall Jenner bought her first place, a fancy condo in LA, at 18 years old. She paid about $1.3 million for the two bedroom pad, and her realtor for the sale was another celebrity baby, the daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.
Jaden Smith
Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, was determined to be an adult early on and to make some major adult purchases. Jaden, who filed to be legally emancipated from his parents when he was 15, made a bit of history when he bought a Tesla Model X when he was only 17. He was the first person to buy the car, which hadn't hit the market yet and, at the time, had a three-year-long waitlist. The car cost a cool $80,000.
Blue Ivy Carter, Again
Blue Ivy Carter was once again quick with the paddle at the Wearable Art Auction in 2022, but unlike past years, she wasn't quite quick enough. The 10-year-old bid $80,000 for a pair of earrings but was outbid by a couple who paid $105,000 for the shiny set.
Natalia Bryant
Natalia Bryant, daughter of the late Kobe Bryant, is only 19 and a college student at USC, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been dropping big bucks on an amazing designer wardrobe for years. Her Instagram is filled with pictures of her fave designer looks (the girl sure loves some Dolce & Gabbana), and it's clear her clothing allowance is MAJOR.
Tiffany Trump
Tiffany Trump loves to live large (hmm, where could she possibly get that from?) and in 2017, she took an epic two-week trip to Italy before starting law school. In the course of the trip, she racked up more than $100,000 in rental car costs alone. But luckily for Tiffany, she didn't have to foot most of the bill, as the American taxpayers paid for it instead. Must be nice to have fun on the public's dime!
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus was famous first as the daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, but she's been making her own money for years now. When she was 17, she bought her first home. She spent an estimated $3.4 million on the property, which she moved into when she was 18.
Gigi Hadid
Before she was a supermodel in her own right, Gigi Hadid was known for being a model's kid. Her mom, who was also a Real Housewives star, helped pave the way for Gigi's modeling career and for Gigi to have the kind of money to drop almost $4 million on a New York City apartment at the tender age of 20.
Brooklyn Beckham
Unlike some celeb kids who are now famous in their own right and making the big bucks (Kylie, Kendall, Gigi, Miley, etc.), Brooklyn Beckham is still mostly known for having super famous (and rich) parents. But that didn't stop him from being able to spend millions of dollars on his first home. Brooklyn, who aspires to be a photographer, purchased a $10 million Beverly Hills mansion with his wife when he was only 22 years old.
Willow Smith
Willow Smith is rumored to have bought herself quite the Sweet 16 present. According to some online reports, the singer splashed out on a $120,000 Porshe Cayenne for her milestone birthday. And it's not the only big purchase this celeb kid has made — she also bought a beach house when she was only 20.
Alabama Barker
Alabama Barker is only 16 (though she certainly goes for a more mature look on Instagram, sadly), but she's already shown a taste for the finer things in life, including a designer wardrobe featuring Prada bags and $1,000 Gucci boots.
