It's hard to keep a secret in Hollywood. Paparazzi are everywhere, and if an expectant mom wants to hide her pregnancy from the world, she basically has to hole up in her house for all nine months – aka pulling a Kylie Jenner. But some celebrity mamas like to take things into their own hands and do the big reveals themselves. And, in the case of this list, these 15 celebrities revealed their pregnancies and baby bumps via music videos. Nothing is quite as impressive as watching a many-months-along mom-to-be dropping it low to a total jam.
This isn't a new trend, but there have been a lot of pregnancy reveals in music videos just this year. Keep reading to see all the moms who put their bellies on display for the sake of the music.
Katy Perry
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are expecting their first child together, and Katy broke the news in the coolest way. She appeared baby bump and all in her March music video for "Never Worn White." Fans were shocked by the big reval, and we can't wait to see how cute their kid is.
Teyana Taylor
Teyana Taylor is expecting another baby to join daughter Iman, and the singer announced the big news in her recent music video "Wake Up Love." At the end of the song, which also features her daughter and husband, Teyana reveals a budding baby bump. This baby is also a girl, and we bet Iman will be the best big sister.
P!nk
In 2011, P!nk was pregnant with daughter Willow when she filmed the video for "F****** Perfect." It's actually a pretty good anthem for Willow to grow up knowing (minus the profanity), because it's all about not letting criticism in. One of the lyrics is, "Oh, pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel like you're less than … perfect." That's probably exactly how P!nk feels about both of her kids.
Beyoncé
Beyoncé is no stranger to performing pregnant. She revealed that she was carrying Blue Ivy during a set at the 2011 VMAs, and then later dropped the music video "Countdown" in which she again showed off her baby bump. Fast-forward a few years, and she performed while pregnant — with twins no less — at the Grammys.
Solange Knowles
Before Bey performed while pregnant, her sister Solange did. In the Destiny's Child video for "Soldier," a very pregnant Solange popped up for the line "carry big things if you know what I mean," as a nod to both her growing baby bump and… other things.
Colleen Ballinger
YouTuber Colleen Ballinger is in the opening scene of Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next," doing a riff on the Mean Girls line. "One time on Twitter I heard Ariana was pregnant, so I got pregnant so we could be pregnant at the same time. Turns out it was just a rumor" Colleen said, revealing her baby bump.
Natalie Portman
In 2017, the actress showed off her baby bump when she starred in James Blake's "My Willing Heart" video. It featured several artsy black-and-white clips of a heavily pregnant Natalie swimming slowly through water. Not long after she appeared in the video, Natalie gave birth to her daughter, Amalia.
Ciara
If Ciara looks like she's about to pop in her "Rooted" music video, it's because she was. According to Harper's Bazaar, she was just two days away from giving birth when the video was filmed. It wrapped just in time for her to have her son. She and Seattle Seahawks quarterback hubby Russell Wilson named him Win, and filming her video while that pregnant was definitely a victory for the singer.
Natasha Bedingfield
Natasha Bedingfield's "Hey Boy" music video was basically just one big gender reveal. The heavily pregnant singer was having a son, and she found the best way to announce it. The lyrics are all about her speculating what kind of kid her son would be. "Hey, boy, what you gonna be when you grow up?" she sings. "Are you gonna wear the pants, be like Superman? … So you're gonna rule the sky, in your Lego tower?"
He's now just two years old, so he still has some time to figure it out.
Jessie James Decker
Country star Jessie James Decker was six months pregnant with her third child when she filmed her video for "Flip My Hair." But she wasn't the only pregnant person in the video. She also hired pregnant backup dancers to complete the full look.
TODAY reported that Jessie was initially worried about performing while pregnant, but she decided just to go for it. "I thought to myself, do I wait after I have the baby and get my body in perfect shape like I’m supposed to? Or do I just embrace where I am at my life, pregnant with my third baby?"
In the end, she went with the latter option, and we're so glad she did.
Cardi B
Cardi B didn't slow down much while she was pregnant with her daughter, Kulture. Not only did she perform pregnant on Saturday Night Live, but she also filmed her dance-heavy music video "I Like It" while sporting a second-trimester baby bump. The rapper was just really starting to make it big at the time, and she wasn't going to miss any time in the spotlight.
Billie Piper
Doctor Who star Billie Piper became the star of her boyfriend Johnny Lloyd's music video last year. The video was made up of snippets of photos, including several taken of Billie when she was eight months pregnant. Soon after, she gave birth to the couple's first child (and Billie's third overall): a little girl named Tallulah.
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood was carrying her son Jacob when she filmed her "Love Wins" video in 2018. She fully leaned into her baby bump, showing it off in a gauzy dress that waved in the wind as she belted out the lyrics. It's a pretty moving song about people coming together in support of one another, instead of in hate and violence. And it's made even better by knowing that love was growing inside of Carrie while she filmed it.
Shay Mitchell
The Pretty Little Liars star created her own music video when she danced along to Starrkeisha's "Baby Momma" song. It's become a sort of meme that moms who are days away from giving birth try to dance along to the tune, which requires dropping it down low. Shay Mitchell did just that, and totally nailed it even with a big baby in her belly.
Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy Teigen is the latest celeb to show off that baby bump in a music video. The model revealed that she and husband John Legend are expecting their third child when she appeared at the end of the video for his song "Wild." Chrissy's such a fun mom who keeps it so real, so we can't wait to hear her stories about raising three kids.
