‘Boy Meets World’ Actress Pregnant at 54

Who says you can’t be a mother well into your 50s? That’s exactly the case for “Boy Meets World” actress Trina McGee as she revealed that she’s pregnant, with her fourth child, at 54-years-old. The “Boy Meets World” alum, who played Angela Moore on the hit 1990s sitcom, announced the shocking news Monday in an Instagram post.

“At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant,” she shared in a post set to the song “Baby Love” by The Supremes. “Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery. Thank you.”

In the caption, the actress added that she’ll “sign off social media for a bit.”

“Thanks for your prayers and well wishes in advance,” she wrote.

McGee played Angela Moore, the love interest of Shawn Hunter, played by Rider Strong, from 1997 to 2000. The actress has three other children, two of whom she shares with ex-husband Courtland David and a child with ex-husband, actor/producer/director Marcello Thedford.

She was in her late 20s when she joined “Boy Meets World” in Season 5 and is 10 years older than Strong.

“It was really surreal playing a high schooler, college freshman, and I really would go home to three kids,” she said on “Good Morning America” in 2022.

In fact, McGee revealed on TikTok in April 2022 that she was secretly pregnant at one point during the series’ run, where she showed stills of her barely-visible baby bump in a 1998 episode and zoomed in.

“That time I played a teenager but in reality I was 6 months pregnant,” she wrote.

According to the Mayo Clinic, there is a higher risk of complications that could result in a C-section delivery in pregnancies after age 35, and “babies born to older mothers have a higher risk of certain chromosomal conditions, such as Down syndrome.”

Additionally, the risk of pregnancy loss also increases with age.

In 2023, data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that the number of births by women aged 45 and older rose by 12% from 2021 to 2022.
