The Hills star Audrina Patridge and her family are going through an absolutely heartbreaking loss right now. As she revealed in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Audrina's niece died just days after her celebrating her 15th birthday, and it seems like it was totally unexpected.
Audrina revealed the sad news on Tuesday
Sharing a carousel of photos of her niece Sadie — who was the daughter of Audrina's sister, Casey Loza — Audrina wrote that her "heart hurts" to share this news.
"My beautiful niece is now in heaven. I know it's not goodbye forever, but it is the hardest to say goodbye for now," she wrote. "We will miss you and cherish every single moment we had with you. Rest in peace Say Say!! We love you forever & ever!"
Sadie's mom also shared a sweet post for her daughter
Posting a selfie of Sadie on her own Instagram account, Casey, who shares two children with husband and motocross rider Kyle Loza, wrote that her daughter had "left this Earth for the heavens."
"Writing this was the hardest thing I ever have had to do, not knowing the right words I’ll leave you with this, Sadie liked to remind me that the first law of thermodynamics aka (Law of Conservation of Energy) works in all spheres of life," she wrote. "'Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.' Transformation is a better word than death."
Sadie's birthday was on February 5
Just days ago, proud mom Casey was sharing a video of Sadie blowing out the candles on her birthday cake on Instagram, writing about all of the adventures they still had left to have.
"Aliens in sedona, portals, learning to drive in the desert hahah I love you so much my little clone," she wrote. "You're so beautiful, kind, smart and funny!! That dryyy af british humor tho. I'm so proud to be your mom and I cannot wait to see the insane ancient civilization architecture you’re going to construct someday. I love you so so much my Sadie Raine."
Her cause of death has not been revealed
In the post about the loss of her daughter, Casey didn't get into specifics.
Instead, she wrote, "Her story will save countless lives, her memory will never be forgtten. Rest In Peace you brilliant starseed. You’re with your creator. We will miss you dearly. I love you."
Our thoughts are with Audrina's family
Losing a child is unthinkable and something no one should have to go through. Here's hoping that this family is able to have all of the support, time, and privacy they need to grieve such an unexpected loss.
