Larry and Dannielynn Birkhead continued their father-daughter tradition of attending the annual Kentucky Derby together. The duo turned up at Churchill Downs in Louisville on Saturday, dressed to the nines in coordinating sky blue and yellow looks. But Dannielynn's fierce fashion sense wasn't the only thing on display — the teen also showed off her guitar-playing chops.

Dannielynn was a vision in a floral-themed dress
The 16-year-old, who is the daughter of the late model Anna Nicole Smith, looked radiant in a Leo Lin dress with a voluminous puffed skirt featuring an oversize sunflower print. In a touching tribute to her mom, she accessorized her look with two jewelry pieces from Anna Nicole's collection: a crystal necklace and a bracelet. She also wore a sunflower fascinator.
Her dad perfectly complemented her look in his baby-blue suit, which he accented with a golden yellow necktie and a sunflower pin. In an interesting footnote, this year marks the 20th anniversary of when Larry and Anna Nicole met at the very same event, according to People.
Watching the horse races wasn't the only excitement for Dannielynn on Saturday
Her dad treated her to a surprise guitar lesson from none other than Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi fame. Larry took to Instagram to share a little clip of the moment, and Dannielynn can be seen strumming a few chords from the 1989 Janet Jackson hit "Black Cat."
"Rockin' the rest of @kentuckyderby out with Richie Sambora and Dannielynn," Larry wrote in his caption. "Richie graciously made good on his offer to give Dannielynn a private guitar lesson and spent a ton of time giving her confidence building tips and mastering the art of playing the guitar."
Dannielynn is growing up so fast
It's hard to believe she's already 16 โ and according to her dad, that means a big milestone is coming up for her. Yep, she'll soon be driving. "She's getting ready to [get her license], and we're working on it," Larry told the Courier Journal on Saturday, joking that they're already deep into negotiations over her car purchase.
"I'm trying to get the budget of the car down to what she wants," he explained. "She was talking like Tesla up here, and I'm trying to go down a little bit. So we'll see how that works out, but she's starting her driving courses now."
She's looking more and more like her mom every day
With her blonde hair, beaming smile, and classic old Hollywood looks, Dannielynn is the twin of her late mother. Anna Nicole tragically died in 2007 at the age of 39, just five months after Dannielynn was born, and Larry has been raising her on his own ever since. While it remains to be seen if the teen will be interested in pursuing a modeling career like Anna Nicole did, she certainly has the photogenic looks to pull it off.
A new documentary about Anna's life is set to premiere this month
The Netflix film called You Don't Know Me promises to go beyond the tabloid narratives and chronicle the complicated life of Anna Nicole, who was one of the most talked about pop culture icons of the '90s. It will feature a mix of never-before-seen footage, home movies, personal phone calls, and interviews, creating the feeling that Anna Nicole herself is telling her own story. The documentary drops on May 16.
