She talked about her battle with the disease on “Good Morning America” a few weeks before the first "Sex and the City" movie was released in 2008, saying she didn't want to talk about it earlier because of the stigma of the disease. She is now an ambassador for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Ruby Dee
Actress, playwright, poet and civil rights activist Ruby Dee was diagnosed with malignant breast cancer in 1970 and has passed the 40-year-survivor mark. She also has three children with her husband, the late actor, director and activist Ossie Davis; one is blues musician Guy Davis.

“Up All Night” and “Married … With Children” star Christina Applegate underwent treatment for breast cancer in 2008 and had a double mastectomy (her mother, Nancy Priddy, is also a breast cancer survivor). But all turned out OK, and the actress gave birth to daughter Sadie Grace in January 2011.
