I am a lifelong writer, from first grade when I won my school’s short story contest to Temple University, where I majored in journalism (after an unsuccessful attempt at kinesiology). Though never a professional journalist, I have worked in marketing, public relations and strategic communications for nearly a decade and my love of writing remains at the core of all that I do.

I am originally from the western suburbs of Philadelphia and moved to the city for college. During my career there, I was a senior account executive at a content marketing agency, a PR manager at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the communications director for a state senator. I also did a sunny stint in the US Virgin Islands for a year-and-a-half, where I was the program manager, and the executive director’s only employee, at the St. John Community Foundation.

I currently live in Tokyo with my husband, several thriving houseplants and two struggling tomato plants. I spend most of my free time exploring the most-populated metropolis on Earth by bicycle, seeking out the best 500 yen pizza and writing (and re-writing) a stand-up comedy set I hope to one day have the courage to perform
