Christina was born into a large, loving Latino family (four brothers and four sisters) in West Texas. She can remember as a child watching the evening news and thinking: "That's what I want to do… live all over the world and cover amazing stories."
And she did.
Christina was fortunate to be a television news producer for 17 years, working for CBS, NBC and CNN. She covered the wars in Central America, the end of apartheid in South Africa, the fall of the Berlin Wall and Communism in Europe, and countless American elections. But with five children, she came off the road and followed her passion for cooking. She went to culinary school and became a chef. She's now a culinary consultant for major food companies, specializing in the Hispanic market. And… she's married to her best friend.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My favorite childhood toy was a brown stick horse. I would ride it all over the neighborhood and create all kinds of adventures. I even put it in the barn (my closet) at night!
