Betty Galvan is a former teacher turned stay-at-home-mom, turned blogger and freelance writer. Her passion for children’s literature and education stems from dreaming with books while growing up Mexican-American in Chicago’s South Side.
Fate took her to New York City and then Asia. She experienced an unbelievable amount of beauty that lies everywhere from Lake Michigan to the coast of Singapore. Influenced by different family lifestyles, natural beauty and design, everything had to be documented, and her blog, My Friend Betty Says, was born.
These days, she continues to write for smart and stylish families. Betty, along with her husband, Jose, and their three young boys, call New Jersey home.
What was your favorite toy as a child?
Mis trastecitos. My best friend and I would play with miniature and traditional Mexican ceramic dishes. We would spend countless hours jugando casita.
