What was your favorite childhood toy?
I am the youngest child of six, and by the time I was into toys, my mother had thrown them all away. So my favorite childhood toy was whatever Maria Tavarozzi, my neighbor and BFF, had at the time. The Barbie Dreamhouse, Lite-Bright, dolls that we could apply makeup to and style their hair. She had every toy on the planet. Back at my house, I would play in this small room in the basement where my mother stored decades worth of dance costumes as far back as the 1950s. My mother owned a dance studio, so any leftover costumes were put there. I would dance, act and even trick or treat in those costumes. It was every little girl's dream closet.
