Which film speaks to your holiday soul?
The 25 days of Christmas are upon us, and with them comes the promise of a daily holiday-inspired movie to warm our spirits and make us believe in magic once more. While some of us approach the season with open hearts, others might dread the inevitable gathering of distant, unpleasant relatives. Find out whether you're naturally a Grinch or more of a Santa Claus, and which holiday film will make your celebrations a little sweeter.
Aries
March 21 – April 19
"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"
When everything that could go wrong does, leave it to Aries to find the humor amidst the rubble. Like Clark Griswold, the patriarch of the National Lampoon franchise, Aries is impulsive and driven by desire, making their real life similar to a scene from this beloved Christmas comedy. Ultimately, this ram sign wants to make the holidays magical for their family, and will be the first to show them how to let the difficulties roll off their shoulders, even when crazy relatives and compulsive decorating threaten to ruin everything.
Taurus
April 20 – May 20
"Christmas with the Kranks"
Taurus puts family first, even if it means sacrificing their own dreams. Like the Kranks, Taurus will go out of their way to put on a spectacular holiday celebration if it means their beloved family and friends will gather close (possibly at the last minute) and celebrate the season together. Due to this sign's stubborn nature, they'll likely keep quiet, even if canceling their plans for others results in paying a hefty, non-refundable fee.
Gemini
May 21 – June 20
"Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
Gemini is known to hold a grudge if they feel they've been wronged. This social, usually charming sign has the potential to be volatile when they feel rejected or hurt, and that pain tends to manifest itself as a bad attitude during the holidays. If anything can help Gemini get over themselves, it's a trusted friend or companion who can still see the best in them, even when they're behaving at their worst.
Cancer
June 21 – July 22
"Miracle on 34th Street"
Cancer is all about tradition, hope and forgiveness, making this classic holiday film their soul twin. Much like Susan (the movie's skeptical child star), Cancer is not one to believe in magic. Given enough time and trust, however, this hesitant sign can find the inspiration to believe in a Christmas miracle. Once this crab casts their doubts aside, they'll be the first to stand up proudly and declare their spirit for the season.
Leo
July 23 – August 22
"The Family Man"
This sign with a one-track mind may love the sights and sounds of the season, but their main priority is their passions, not a holiday celebration. To this lion, achievement and success are the most important aspects of their life, making the intrusion of emotions and people as desirable as coal in a Christmas stocking. The good news is that marriage and kids does a lot to soften their steely hearts, and with the right amount of encouragement, Leo can find (and even enjoy) their holiday spirit.
Virgo
August 23 – September 22
"The Polar Express"
Imaginative, sensitive Virgo needs to believe in something or someone bigger than themselves. "The Polar Express" explores the same notion of losing and regaining hope with just enough holiday sentiment to inspire their senses. While this sign can be quick to give up, especially when things don't go their way, they're able to recover their spirits faster than most. If they're given a reason to believe things can be better, they'll hold on to that for dear life. Sometimes, a belief in the power of kindness is the only magic this sign needs.
Libra
September 23 – October 22
"A Christmas Story"
Libra has big, starry eyes for all the many things they love. Once Libra sets their sights on something exciting or new, it's next to impossible to convince them they don't need it. To make sure they'll receive what they want for Christmas, they're likely to cover all their bases, including asking Santa, entering a sweepstakes, making pleas to their parents, partners and friends, and if all else fails, saving up their own money to buy it for themselves.
Scorpio
October 23 – November 22
"Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer"
Sweet, kind-hearted Scorpio wants to be liked, but more important, they want to be seen as useful. Like Rudolph, this sign will push themselves hard to prove their worth and won't quit just because things get hard. Although this timid sign doesn't like fighting, they will not miss an opportunity to prove their naysayers wrong and have a full-on "told ya so!" moment.
Sagittarius
November 23 – December 21
"The Santa Clause"
Pragmatic Sagittarius prides themselves on being firmly planted in reality. This archer sign does not give in to fantasy or fairy tales, and, like the film's main character, will have a hard time believing in the magic of the season. However, once Sagittarius finds their holiday spirit, they're likely to celebrate bigger and bolder than any other sign in the zodiac, and will do all they can to spread their joy to others.
Capricorn
December 22 – January 19
"A Christmas Carol"
Penny-pinching Capricorn knows a thing or two about being thrifty, and, like Ebenezer Scrooge, they have no qualms about cutting back in order to save more. While this goat sign may not always tap into the joy of giving, they are willing to make up for it in kindness, helpfulness and a desire to make amends with anyone they've ever disappointed. In this way, Capricorn actually captures the magic of Christmas more than most and will do all they can to keep the holidays full of love (while limiting the expenses they see as luxurious).
Aquarius
January 20 – February 18
"Elf"
Quirky, fun and open-minded Aquarius is basically Buddy every day of the year. This sign is steeped in mysticism and wonder, making their holidays an equally magical expression. Although Aquarius may be easily tricked, they're the type to laugh it off and move forward, never wasting time holding grudges. Like the film, Aquarius will undoubtedly teach others how to tap into their own childlike joy, making Christmas all the more beautiful and special in the process.

Pisces
February 19 – March 20
"It's a Wonderful Life"
Sensitive Pisces needs to believe that goodness and virtue will always defeat darkness, and this film satisfies that need. Like the main character, George Bailey, sometimes life can feel too overwhelming for this tender-hearted sign. However, by remembering the importance we all have in this world, and knowing that our friends and family will be there when times are tough, Pisces will rekindle their occasionally waning holiday spirit and celebrate the magic of the season.
