I try to live a healthy lifestyle, making small choices that really make a big difference in the grand scheme of things. I try to think about what I put in my body and on my body, and the things we use around the house. One of those little steps is making my own all-natural lotion. This project even ended up saving me money, so I think it's definitely worth a try.
I try to live a healthy lifestyle. I know it's not something I talk too much about, but it really is a part of my everyday living. I try to make small choices that really make a big difference in the grand scheme of things. I try to think about what I put in my body and on my body, and the things we use around the house. But of course it's a balancing act, and I do crave my Burger King chicken strips in my moments of weakness. 🙂
One of those little steps is making my own all-natural lotion. This project even ended up saving me money, so I think it's definitely worth a try. Now don't be intimidated! This is really the easiest first step to healthy living.
Now if you're like us, you live with a giant Costco-sized container of coconut oil in our house. We use it for so many things, and this is no exception (I'll have to tell you all about those things in a later post).
Ingredients:
- Coconut oil
- Essential oil (optional)
Yep, you read right! Only two ingredients, and one is optional.
Steps:
Place coconut oil in a bowl (if it is really hard, put it in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time until slightly soft).
Blend until smooth and "whipped." I use my immersion blender, but you can do this with a hand-held or regular blender.
Add 10-15 drops of your favorite essential oil, if you would like, and mix into whipped coconut oil.
