What to Know
A member of the Trump family revealed on social media Wednesday that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., shared the announcement on Instagram.
“I want to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she wrote. “I would like to thank my doctors for performing a procedure earlier this week on me.”
Trump continued, “I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me. Thank you for your kindness and support it truly means more than I can express. I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery.”
The announcement drew a wave of support from the family. Ivanka Trump commented on the post, writing that she is “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery.”
The eldest of Vanessa and Donald Trump Jr.’s five children, Kai Trump, also commented, calling her mother the “strongest person ever.”
The former couple, who was married from 2005 to 2018, also shares children Chloe, Donald III, Tristan and Spencer, according to PEOPLE.
