Your 2018 Astrological Forecast

In numerology, 2018 represents the number 2, as well as the master number 11. That means we'll experience unity and peace in some areas of our lives, while we face new challenges with renewed passion and determination, all heightening our chances of success. March 21 – April 19

Aries knows all about working hard, but 2018 will be the year of accomplishment on levels they've only imagined. Finally, after all the sweat and tears, Aries gets to wrap up some of their biggest goals and start working toward new ones. At the end of June, rams should avoid making big decisions as their ruling planet, Mars, goes retrograde. Come November, that changes when Jupiter and Mars push Aries to take big risks in anticipation of even bigger rewards.

April 20 – May 20

This year is all about insight for stubborn Taurus. Known for taking care of everyone else so they can avoid caring for themselves, this bull sign is destined for self-reflection come late April, when the sun enters their house, shining light on their darkest secrets. While initially painful, Taurus will survive and find they're happier and healthier for the experience. In July, Taurus' ruling planet, Venus, enters the house of Virgo, making them feel open and giving to others once more, with clearer boundaries in place.

May 21 – June 20

Gemini is known to stick their foot in their mouth, thanks to their rapid-fire communication style. While that approach might get them in hot water in 2018, it will also facilitate some much-needed honesty in their relationships. Thanks to their ruling planet, Mercury, being in retrograde around springtime, the twin sign will have a chance to slow down and evaluate who's Team Gemini and who's ready to be cut loose, making space for more meaningful connections in the year ahead.

June 21 – July 22

This year is Cancer's year to shine. The sun and the moon unite in the summer to bring this crab sign inspiration, intuition and a clear focus for the future. There's also an opportunity for an exciting new business venture in mid-July that promises long-term financial stability. While Cancer will feel as if nothing can stop them, in early November they'll need to ask themselves the hard questions and make sure they're not accepting less than they deserve.

July 23 – Aug. 22

Leo is the lion of the zodiac, but they're also prone to emotional reactions that can damage their relationships and career opportunities. In February, Leo will feel imbalanced—wanting attention and recognition while also wanting everyone to leave them alone (which makes perfect sense to Leo but confuses the heck out of everyone else). This upset might lead to a career change or a relationship's demise. Never fear, by summer Leo hits their stride and will be on track to rule the jungle once more.

Aug. 23 – Sept. 22

Methodical and analytical Virgo is about to have an astrological revolution in 2018, when a new moon in early fall brings a wave of feminine energy and intuition to their life, causing this headstrong sign to rethink many of their decisions over the last year. The result? By winter, Virgo might have a brand new plan of action based on their desires (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). This maiden sign also needs to be wary of overstepping their bounds in August, as they're apt to burn important bridges.

Sept. 23 – Oct. 22

Libra just wants to love. The struggle is that they're notoriously hard on themselves (like, brutally hard), causing them to struggle at maintaining healthy relationships. That finally changes in September when the sun enters Libra's house, bringing warmth, positivity and a fresh perspective to their romantic and personal connections. Prior to that, Libra will embark on a new chapter in June, finally living their best life, which draws new, way cooler people into their circle.

Oct. 23 – Nov. 22

Scorpio often deals with disappointment by projecting it onto others, and that reaches a high note in spring when Pluto (Scorpio's original ruling planet) goes into retrograde, causing this scorpion sign to bring up all of their past hurts (which creates unnecessary relationship drama). By fall, determined Scorpio will be ready to make changes and focus on what they can do differently to bring happiness into their lives instead of waiting for others to do it for them.

Nov. 23 – Dec. 21

All the hard work Sagittarius put in during the last three years is about to pay off in 2018, when Jupiter and Mars join forces to bring good fortune and strength their way. But Sagittarius shouldn't get too cocky, as they'll find their goals might be out of reach, forcing them to scale back (which frustrates this overachieving sign). A trip in early winter will challenge Sagittarius's ideas, bringing powerful new insight and a positive shift in their direction.

Dec. 22 – Jan. 19

Capricorn needs to invest in pajama stock because they are about to get some much-needed rest in 2018, when this hard-hitting sign finally takes a step back and stops doing everyone else's job. Beginning in early May, this sea-goat sign (thanks to some gentle nudging from retrograde Pluto) realizes life is short and other people can figure things out on their own, leaving Caps with something they've only dreamed of in the past: free time.

Jan. 20 – Feb. 18

Aquarius is about to face some major upheaval in 2018, beginning in May when fiery Mars blazes through their house, causing disruption, which might leave Aquarius feeling like giving up. Even their relationships will be tested in the months ahead (blame their ruling planet, Uranus). The good news (we promise there's some) is that in their time of need Aquarius will reach out for support (something they're not good at) and find there's a strong tribe willing and ready to help them recover.

Feb. 19 – March 20

It's high time Pisces caught a break and, thankfully, 2018 is the year they're going to get it—but it won't come easy. After giving so much of themselves physically and emotionally in 2017, this fish sign will feel the strong need to retreat into their own creative world by early March, which might startle those who've come to depend on Pisces' nurturing ways. While it may require them to cut off communication for awhile, by summer this water sign will be ready to emerge, stronger than ever.
