What to Know
Having sex after giving birth isn’t all sunshine and rainbows for most women. If you had a vaginal delivery, your uterus and cervix may still be tender, which could make sex hurt a lot. And if you’re experiencing vaginal dryness, which also isn’t uncommon, it’s going to be painful, even if you’re really into it. For those who had a c-section, even if your incision is healed, you may be uncomfortable. But so many women don’t want to talk about these truths. On a recent podcast episode, Kylie Kelce opened up about her sex life with husband Jason after giving birth to four kids.
She was honest that it might not be a pleasant experience.
On the March 26, 2026 episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, the mom of four got real about what her sex life with husband Jason is really like. The episode highlighted her life one year after giving birth to her youngest daughter, 11-month-old Finn.
“I’m gonna tell you right now, for anyone who has experienced sex postpartum … are we doing this? We’re doing this. I’m talking about it,” she began.
“For anyone who has experienced sex postpartum specifically — I can only speak to after a vaginal birth. I’ve had varying experiences. Different for every kid. It’s not all fun and games, guys. It’s not all fun and games the first couple of times you catch my drift. We can’t be out here like, ‘That was great!’ What? A human just exited that door.”
That is the best way to refer to what has just happened.

Despite what we’ve been taught to believe, there’s no hard and fast timeline for when you have sex after giving birth, according to the Mayo Clinic. But they do recommend that you wait until you’ve had an appointment with your doctor postpartum, regardless of how you delivered.
“There’s more to intimacy than sex, especially when you’re getting used to life with a new baby,” the guide points out.
“If you’re not feeling sexy or you’re afraid sex will hurt, talk to your partner. Until you’re ready to have sex, you may want to try to connect and show affection for one another in other ways. For example, spend focused time together without the baby, even if it’s just a few minutes in the morning or after the baby goes to sleep.”
What if you want to start thinking about more kids?

In addition to Finn, Kylie and Jason Kelce also share three more daughters: six-year-old Wyatt, four-year-old Ellie, and three-year-old Bennett. She has spent most of their nearly eight year marriage pregnant.
During the episode, she spoke with her OBGYN, Dr. Joan Devine of Axia Women’s Health, the McConnell Division. Out of curiosity, Kelce asked how long women should wait after giving birth to start trying again for another kid.
According to Dr. Devine, with a vaginal birth that has no complications, you can start to think about getting pregnant again when your baby is six months old to one year old. However, if you have a c-section, you ideally want to have 18 months between your deliveries.
This episode isn’t the first time Kylie Kelce has opened up about her body after 4 kids.
On the February 12, 2026 episode of “Not Gonna Lie,” Kelce admitted that she plans to get breast augmentation. She discussed her decision with her friends in front of the camera.
“Really, my plan is, we’re gonna end up doing this,” she said, adding that her friends were supportive of her choice. “I wanted to be clear, you were in whether you like it or not,” she added, joking that she might use snacks to get them to attend the reveal.
“Eventually I will put my boobs back where they belong because, four kids. That’s all I have to say about that,” she said.
