Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi recently opened up about something that is a scary reality for many women. The reality star and mom of three is facing an uncertain reality about possibly having cervical cancer. Polizzi, who is known for her brutal honesty, shared that she has been going through a series of medical procedures to determine if she may have the illness, which is scary enough. But she also got extremely vulnerable, revealing not just a fear of having cancer, but what she feels is the loss of a part of her womanhood. And honestly, her admissions are incredibly relatable.
It feels fitting that Polizzi shared the emotional subject during a “get unready with me” video. As she wiped her makeup off, she revealed that like many other women, she doesn’t always prioritize her health. As a result, she often misses or skips doctors appointments, especially gynecological appointments.
I totally understand her hesitation; gynecologist appointments are the worst.
In her video, Polizzi explained that after a recent appointment, she turned to TikTok to see if there were women on the app talking about their experiences going through what she had gone through. She was surprised and delighted to find plenty of videos, and was hesitant to share her own.
“This is gonna be my video. More for awareness, and to say thank you to all the women out there who did make videos about this. You’re making me feel seen, and there’s a community of women that are going through this,” she said.
Polizzi revealed that she’s had several irregular pap smears for “years.”
After her last few tests came back irregular, she had to have a colposcopy. For those who don’t know, it’s a type of biopsy done on your cervix. Typically, your doctor uses a tool that is kind of like a hole punch that removes a circular piece of cervical tissue.
Typically, you’re not put under anesthesia for this procedure, and it is painful and uncomfortable.
“I already hate regular pap smears to begin with,” Polizzi said. Of the colposcopy, she said, “it wasn’t a great experience.”
She had to have an additional biopsy, which came with a scary realization.
After the colposcopy, Polizzi’s doctor told her she’d have to undergo a cone biopsy because he found cancerous cells near the top of her cervix. It will give them a course of action if the doctor finds anything concerning. If they do, she may have to undergo a hysterectomy.
Hearing the word hysterectomy stirred up complicated feelings for her.
“I’m done having kids,” she admitted while tearing up. “But as a woman, the thought of getting a hysterectomy is sad and scary. The thought of not having kids is what’s killing me.”
But she said she’ll do “whatever” she needs to do to keep her healthy and safe for the kids she does have.
The comments were overwhelmingly positive.

“Snooki if it comes down to a hysterectomy let me tell you, it was the best thing I ever did. I got energy back I didn’t know I had, lost weight, and feel like a new woman! Put it in God’s hands. He knows what’s best!” a commenter wrote.
